Jane Holmes Martin, RN, Fibromyalgia Advisor, Nurse Educator
Jane has worked in the nursing profession for 44 years before retiring in 2015. She now volunteers, takes care of her 94 year old mother, enjoys spinning yarn, sailing and playing with her three grandchildren.
Jane has always liked to encourage and help people grow spiritually, emotionally and physically. In 1990, Jane was in a car accident which started her fibromyalgia. This was before fibro was understood so she went many years without being treated properly. Now she hopes to integrate her knowledge of medicine with coaching and help active women with fibromyalgia so they don't have to wait years for help. Her coaching style is through encouragement.
"Jane is very easy to talk to. Her speech isn’t pressured or rushed, which puts me at ease, I always feel like we have plenty of time to accomplish the goals we’ve set for our sessions together. I am very risk averse and seeing Jane take risks and do ok over time has been useful for me." — Jennifer
